Faculty Council

Pursuant to Article 17 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, dated November 4, 1981, the duties of the Faculty Council are defined as follows:

Structure and Operation

The Faculty Council consists of the dean as chair, the chairs of the departments affiliated with the faculty, the directors of any institutes and colleges affiliated with the faculty, if any, three professors elected by the faculty for a three-year term, two associate professors elected by the associate professors from among themselves, one faculty member elected by the assistant professors from among themselves. The Faculty Council normally meets at the beginning and end of each semester.

Duties

The Faculty Council is an academic body and performs the following duties:

  • To determine the faculty’s educational and teaching activities, scientific research and publication activities, and the principles, plans, programs, and academic calendar related to these activities;
  • To elect members to the Faculty Executive Board,
  • To perform other duties assigned by this law.
